Basic Usage

Let's walk through how to use it to generate realistic data for your designs. We'll cover the fundamental steps to get you started.

1. Opening Datapaw

First, select the text layers or frames where you want to add data in your Figma design. Then, navigate to Plugins > Datapaw in the top menu. This will open the Datapaw plugin interface.

2. Choosing a Data Type

On the Datapaw generate data homepage, you'll see various data types available. For this basic example, let's generate some strings by clicking on the "String" menu on the homepage.

3. Generating Data

Now that you've selected the data type:

  1. Choose the number of items you want to generate (let's say 10).
  2. Click the "Generate" button.

Datapaw will now populate your selected layers with 10 realistic strings!

4. Saving Your Setup

If you like this configuration:

  1. Click the "Save" button.
  2. Give your setup a name, like "Basic String Set".
  3. In the future, you can load this setup from the "Saved Contents" section.

That's it! You've now used Datapaw to generate realistic string data for your design. As you get more comfortable, we encourage you to explore more data types and advanced features. Happy designing.
